How to make Tie-Dye Theme Party Food!
When the schedule of back to school has gotten a little hectic take a little break. This weekend plan a tie -dye party and let the kids and the adults get a little messy and creative at the same time. 1. Rainbow sponge cake: Simply prepare a boxed yellow cake mix using the box instructions. While baking – mix various colors of Jello, each into separate bowls. Mix with warm water to dissolve. Then, poke holes through the cake with a toothpick and pour each color into a different area of the cake allowing some colors to overlap. Ice when cool.
2. Tie Dye Fudge. Melt (1 ) 8 oz. container of ready made cake icing with 1 oz. bag of chocolate chips. Mix occasionally until smooth. Divide into 3 different bowls and add food coloring. Next, spray a lined pan with non-stick spray and layer one at a time each color of icing mix. Then using a knife swirl the colors to achieve the Tie Dye look. Refrigerate 2 hours or until hardened. Cut into squares.
3. Fruit Kebobs. Cut up lots of colorful fruit and add a marshmallow between each piece of fruit on the kebob.
4. Trix Krispy Treats – Using the same recipe as you would for a Rice Krispy Treat. Mix Trix or Fruity Pebbles, or any multi-colored cereal, with butter and melted marshmallows. Layer in a pan sprayed with non-stick spray.
