Black and Gold Buffs Bash

case study

Colorado Party Rentals and the University of Colorado Alumni Association continue their partnership moving into the 2023 season. This partnership is a perfect match as we both strive to provide memorable experiences for our clients and guests! This year we are proud to support their first-ever Alumni Association pre-season tailgate party for the Black and Gold Day Spring football game on April 22nd. This event brings Buff fans together to cheer on their team, all while having special appearances from campus leadership and the Spirit Squad!

Colorado Party Rentals provided the stage, tables, and linens for the event, ensuring a comfortable space for everyone to gather. After the weather took a turn for the worse (thank you Colorado) and we saw snow in the forecast, we made a game time decision to add tent and pyramid heaters to the order. Colorado Party rentals set up all the folding tables, chairs, umbrellas, staging, and heaters Thursday morning upon delivery. Then on Saturday, the morning of the event, CU’s crew braved the snow and set up all the linens, stanchions, and tall cabaret tables.

Rental order breakdown

Spring is here, but that does not mean we are done with snow here in Colorado just yet. All pyramid heaters are set up and tested on site, so we advise not moving them once they have been delivered. However, events are always changing, and we know it is possible you will need to adjust or move your heater. We have created this step by step “how to” process for you to follow if this ends up applying to you!

Step 1. choose a location

Make sure you choose a safe location for your pyramid heater. The heater should be placed on a level surface away from flammable materials. Also, ensure that there is enough space around the heater for proper ventilation.

Step 2. get your heater ready to move

Your heater will already be assembled by the CPR Crew. It is important to ensure the propane is off before moving! If you feel comfortable detaching and removing the propane tank, that will make moving it a much easier process.

Step 3. reinstall the propane tank

Once you have moved the heater to a new location, it is time to reinstall the propane tank. Our pyramid heaters use a standard 20-pound propane tank. Connect the propane tank to the regulator hose.

Step 4. turn on the propane tank

Now it's time to turn on the propane tank. Slowly turn the valve on the propane tank counterclockwise until it stops. This will allow the propane to flow freely to the heater.

Step 5. ignite the heater

To ignite the heater, locate the ignition knob and turn the knob to the lightning bolt symbol, continue holding in this position for 30 seconds to allow the thermocouple to heat up and then press the ignite button.

Step 6. enjoy your heater!

That's it! You're now ready to bask in the warmth of your pyramid heater. Say goodbye to that cold weather feeling and hello to spring warmth (at least in that one section of your event).

In addition to this Spring event, Colorado Party Rentals provides the CU Alumni Association with all their Fall Football game rentals. We are excited for this season and to be able to provide rentals for all of CU’s tailgating events!

We understand that every event is unique, and we pride ourselves on being able to meet all our clients’ needs. Whether it’s a backyard graduation or large tailgating party, we have the equipment and expertise to help you create any unforgettable event.
