History

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Denver, CO has a rich history dating back to the early 19th century. The first recorded St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Denver was in 1864, when the city’s Irish community gathered for a small parade through downtown. The parade was organized by a group of Irish immigrants who had recently arrived in Denver and were eager to celebrate their heritage. Over the years, the parade grew in popularity, and by the early 20th century, it had become a major annual event in Denver.

Today, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Denver is one of the largest and most popular St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the country. The parade typically takes place on the Saturday closest to St. Patrick’s Day and features hundreds of floats, marching bands, and other festive attractions. The parade route runs through downtown Denver, ending at the city’s historic Irish Snug pub, where many parade-goers gather to continue the celebration.

It’s always important to have an option that can accommodate many people, while also being sturdy and weather resistant. That is exactly what we offer with our tents here at Colorado Party Rentals.

The Process

The process of installing a 30’ x 30’ white frame tent involves several steps, which often vary slightly depending on the site conditions. In this case we install directly in front of the entrance to Coor’s Field on 20th and Blake.

Step One – Site Inspection

The first step to installing any large tent is to inspect the site. This includes checking for any obstacles or hazards such as trees, power lines, or uneven terrain. It is also important to measure the space to ensure that the tent will fit properly.

Step Two – Tent Layout

Once the site has been inspected, the tent layout can be determined. This involves marking the location of the tent and any additional equipment such as stakes, guy lines, or sidewalls. It is important to ensure that the tent is level and that there is adequate clearance around the perimeter.

Step Three – Tent Frame Assembly

The frame assembly is typically the most time-consuming part of the installation process. The frame consists of aluminum or steel poles and connectors that are assembled to create the basic structure of the tent. The frame pieces are typically labeled to help ensure that they are assembled correctly.

Step Four – Tent Canopy Installation

Once the frame is assembled, the tent canopy can be installed. Our frame tent canopies are made of vinyl and are attached to the frame using clips or straps. Care must be taken to ensure that the canopy is stretched tight and that there are no wrinkles or sagging areas.

Step Five – Tent Anchoring

Once the tent is fully assembled, it must be anchored to the ground to ensure stability and safety. This typically involves driving stakes or anchors into the ground around the tent’s perimeter. In this case we always install on brick, so we use concrete blocks to stabilize and keep the tent in place.

Step Six – Sidewall Installation

If sidewalls are included with the tent rental, they can be installed at this point. Sidewalls are typically made of vinyl and provide additional protection from the elements and can also help to create a more enclosed space. This is important for this particular tent job because it’s used for an invitationonly event that happens in conjunction with the parade.

Conclusion

Overall, the installation process for a 30′ x 30′ frame tent takes time but is very straightforward if you follow these steps. At Colorado Party Rentals, we have an experienced tent and field team that make the installation process seamless, so every event runs smoothly. We love being able to work with the St. Patrick’s Day Parade committee every year for this event and look forward to working together for many years to come!
